In this guide, we’ll walk you through connecting ServiceM8, a powerful job management tool, to LeadConnector using Make (formerly Integromat), a robust alternative to Zapier. This integration will help automate the flow of lead information into ServiceM8, streamlining your workflows, reducing manual data entry, and ensuring efficient management of your leads.

Step 1: Set Up Accounts for ServiceM8, LeadConnector, and Make

Before you begin, ensure you have active accounts with the following services:

  1. ServiceM8: Sign up at ServiceM8 if you don’t already have an account.
  2. LeadConnector: Create an account on LeadConnector.
  3. Make: Create an account on Make (formerly Integromat).

Step 2: Create a New Scenario in Make

  1. Log in to Make: Go to Make and log in to your account.
  2. Create a New Scenario:
    • Once logged in, click on the “Create a new scenario” button to start building your automation.

Step 3: Choose LeadConnector as the Trigger App

  1. Search for LeadConnector: In the “Search for Apps” section, type LeadConnector to find the integration.
  2. Select the Trigger Event:
    • Choose an appropriate trigger, such as New Lead, based on what action you want to automate (e.g., creating a new lead in ServiceM8 when a lead is submitted in LeadConnector).
  3. Connect LeadConnector:
    • You’ll be prompted to log in to your LeadConnector account to authorize the connection with Make.
  4. Set Up the Trigger:
    • Specify which lead source or form you want to track from LeadConnector.
  5. Test the Trigger:
    • Make will ask you to test the connection by pulling in a sample lead from LeadConnector. Make sure everything is working correctly before moving on.

Step 4: Choose ServiceM8 as the Action App

  1. Search for ServiceM8: In the “Search for Apps” section, search for ServiceM8 to find the integration.
  2. Select the Action Event:
    • Choose an action, such as Create Job or Create Client, depending on what you want to do with the new lead.
  3. Connect ServiceM8:
    • You will be prompted to log in to your ServiceM8 account to authorize the connection.
  4. Set Up the Action:
    • Define the actions you want to trigger in ServiceM8 when a new lead is captured, such as creating a new job or contact.
  5. Test the Action:
    • Make will allow you to run a test to confirm that the lead information is correctly being added to ServiceM8.

Step 5: Map Data Between LeadConnector and ServiceM8

  1. Map Fields:
    • Once both apps are connected, you’ll be prompted to map the data from LeadConnector to ServiceM8.
    • For example, you can map the lead’s name, email, phone number, and address from LeadConnector to the corresponding fields in ServiceM8.
  2. Customize the Data Flow:
    • Customize how the information will flow into ServiceM8. You can choose whether to create a new job or contact and ensure the relevant data is correctly populated in the right fields.

Step 6: Test Your Scenario

  1. Run the Test:
    • Once the data is mapped, run a test to ensure that when a new lead is generated in LeadConnector, it automatically creates a job or client in ServiceM8.
  2. Refine as Needed:
    • If anything is missing or incorrect, go back to the mapping step to adjust the fields.

Step 7: Activate Your Scenario

  1. Enable the Scenario: Once everything is set up and tested successfully, click “Activate” to enable your workflow.
  2. Monitor the Workflow: From this point on, Make will automatically handle the creation of jobs or clients in ServiceM8 whenever a new lead is generated in LeadConnector.

Step 8: Monitor and Adjust

  • Monitor the Automation: Check that your workflow is running smoothly and that leads are being correctly synced into ServiceM8.
  • Refine the Process: If any issues arise, return to Make to adjust the settings or mappings. Make offers a detailed log of all actions taken by your scenario, so you can easily diagnose and fix problems.

Additional Tips:

  1. Use Filters: You can set up filters in Make to only trigger actions for certain leads, such as those from a specific lead source or with certain criteria.
  2. Multiple Scenarios: If you have multiple lead forms or sources in LeadConnector, you can create multiple scenarios to handle different workflows.
  3. Error Handling: Set up error handling in Make to ensure you’re notified if anything goes wrong with the automation process.

By using Make as a Zapier alternative, you can seamlessly connect LeadConnector to ServiceM8, automating lead capture and job creation in a few simple steps. This integration ensures that no lead is missed, and your team can focus on following up with customers instead of manually transferring data between platforms.
